15:00

Huddersfield Town travel to the DW Stadium looking for revenge for the 2-1 home defeat inflicted upon them by Wigan in November.

Having dropped 2 points against Blackburn on New Years Eve, Huddersfield will be aiming for 3 points and a third away win on the trot for the first time since October 2012!

Wigan buoyed by a goalless draw at Derby on New Years Eve, which ended a 5 match losing sequence will be looking at this game in hope with their last win, you guessed it, coming at the John Smiths Stadium 7 matches ago, can the repeat the feat or will the Terriers have learnt their lesson?

Get to the game, where pay on the day is available to Town fans, and find out !

Vital Quotes:

Terriers Head Coach David Wagner.

''This period of matches over Christmas and New Year is part of the culture of the game in this country''

''In some ways it makes no sense, to be honest, it's crazy but I have no complaints, to complain is pointless, I look at the fixtures and get on with the planning and preparation.''

''We are unbeaten in six games, we want to keep this run going, but we know Wigan are tough opponents. They won at our ground in November and we respect them. You should never judge a side by their place in table.''

Wigan Athletic Manager Warren Joyce.

''Monday is a big test, but that's true for both sides. They've had a slightly longer rest with the early kick off, but not much.

''They might have more players to choose from, and they might be able to swap and change within the squad but really, it doesn't really matter once you start the game.''

''The players performed well at Derby but this is a completely different game; every scenario is different really in terms of us being the home side now and the only thing we are looking at is our own consistency in terms of how we approach our games, challenge ourselves to maintain those standards and to have the attitude of wanting to get better match by match.

''On behalf of everyone at the club we need to wish our supporters a Happy New Year, and we need everyone to come together to try and make it a good start to 2017 on the pitch.

''Huddersfield will have a decent following and it should be a really good atmosphere. The fans have kept getting behind the players home and away and have been brilliant, we need another big effort from everyone, because it makes a real difference to the players, gives them that extra belief, when they feel the supporters are behind them.''

Wigan Athletic Team News:

Ryan Colclough could be included in the squad having been recalled from his MK Dons loan spell.

Wigan have somewhat of an injury crisis with 9 players absent.

Reece Burke (hip), Craig Morgan (groin), Reece James (ankle), Donervon Daniels (knee), David Perkins (hamstring), Alex Gilbey (ankle), Luke Garbutt (back), Kyle Knoyle (elbow) and Nick Powell (hamstring) are all currently sidelined.

Shaun MacDonald also remains doubtful having played through illness on New years Eve

Player to watch: Yanic Wildschut

The lightning quick striker will be well known to Huddersfield fans and defenders alike. Wigan notching two breakaway goals at the John Smiths Stadium, with Wildschut netting one and proving a thorn in the Town defence side, a feat Town will not want to repeat at the DW

Huddersfield Town Team News:

Jonathan Hogg is absent for the Terriers, as is Sean Scannell

Captain Mark Hudson could start after returning as a late sub against Blackburn as manager David Wagner likes to rotate his squad.

Tareiq Holmes-Dennis faces a late fitness test

Phil Billing is expected to get the nod ahead of Dean Whitehead due to the quick turnaround in game time.

Player to watch: Aaron Mooy

Wasn't at his best on New Years Eve, and looked disappointed with himself.

I expect that he will be right at it for this match, and if he is Mooy will run the show.
