Millwall vs. Huddersfield

Millwall v Huddersfield

Millwall were one the bookies favourites for promotion before the season kicked off, and Huddersfield with new optimism under new manager Andy Ritchie, make this a clash of promotion hopefuls.

Vital Quotes:

A small squad is ok if its packed with quality, ours is small and included in it are a lot of very young very inexperienced, and potentially not good enough players. Injuries and suspensions will show us up, and they already are, need to sign another forward to complement Beckett quickly, a nippy quick guy, like Leon Knight was, that sort of player. (Vanman regular vital huddersfield contributor)

Millwall Team News:

Forward Tom Brighton is still doubtful as he recovers from an ankle injury, Chris Day will deputise in goal due to Lenny Pidgeley's toe injury.

Manager Willie Donachie made five close-season signings: defenders Andy Frampton (from Brentford) and Scott Barron (Ipswich), midfielders Ryan Smith (Derby) and Danny Spiller (Gillingham) and striker Gary Alexander (Leyton Orient).

Frontman Darren Byfield was transferred to Bristol City this week.

Player to watch: Danny Spiller

The recently signed midfielder has been a revalation for the Millwall faithful so far this season

Huddersfield Team News:

Frank Sinclair could be back in contention, new loan signing Richard Keogh could feature too.
Danny Schofield will still be missing as will new signing Robbie Williams. David Mirfin will again be missing and a big loss at the back.

Player to watch: Luke Beckett

Goals are the game and Beckett is the name, he missed out on scoring last week for the first time in three, so expect to see him notching again soon.

Match Facts & Stats

Both sides are going into the game on the back of defeats, Millwall beaten 1-0 at Southend last Saturday, Town of course going down 2-0 to Carlisle at the Galpharm in a disappointing display. Millwall currently have four points from their three games and the terriers of course six.

Match Prediction:

You can get odds of 11/10 Millwall, 11/5 Draw, and 2/1 Town. I have this game down as a draw, Town need to improve as do Millwall, and perhaps a draw will suit both as its an improvement on the previous week. You can vote on the outcome in our latest poll.

If Town lose , the doom mongers will be out. With Sinclair back in the side it should be better, we need Mirf back, expect the boy Keogh is here to cover for him until fit.

Terriers
Will be happy with the draw. Need to get the injuries sorted and quick!

would like to think Wall will whoop your northern arses but without a goal scorer in the team is going to be difficult unless the new young lad simpson comes good
Custard
yes new loan signing from Arsenal Jay Simpson, young lad, could be good for yiou lions, not included in this artiicle for some reason, not a big fan of loans myself.
