Talking Cobblers

Last time these two sides met at Sixfields, Northampton the home side romped to a 3-0 victory a couple of months ago. Spurred on by some unfortunate comments from Andy Ritchie that they would struggle this season. In addition the Town squad were suffering from a bug which left many players ill. The Town team need very much to set the record straight against the FL1 strugglers

Vital Quotes:

Mark Hughes, Northampton - 'We did really well in the game against Huddersfield at our place and a lot of people were talking about what their manager had said.

'We shouldn't need their manager to motivate us this time, we should be capable of doing that ourselves.

'We know we need to improve on the performance we put in at Doncaster.
'At the moment we're five points ahead of the bottom four and we need to start making every game count.

'We know we need to make a quick recovery at Huddersfield after what happened on Boxing Day, and we've got the chance to do that.'

Huddersfield Team News:

Frank Sinclair is expected to return having completed a four-match suspension.
Chris Brandon is also available.
Danny Cadamarteri is still out with tendonitis in his knee.

Player to watch: Andy Boooth

Who else, goals galore for Mr Huddersfield at the moment, and this big Northampton side present no challenge to Boothy

Northampton Team News:

Northampton have Ryan Gilligan back after suspension but Andy Holt is still on the sidelines with ankle trouble.

Ian Henderson could be back following his knee injury.

Northampton - urban area has a population of 189,474. it is the 21st largest settlement in England and is the UK's third largest town without official city status - after Reading and Dudley.

Traditionally Northampton was a major centre of shoemaking and other leather related industries. Hence the nickname the cobblers.
Northampton's main industries now include distribution and finance, and major employers include Barclaycard.

Player to watch: Andy Kirk

Andy Kirk hasd eleven goals to his credit this season, far more than any terrier

Match Facts & Stats

Northampton are having a poor time on their travels, managing only 2 draws from the last six matches. Last time out they lost away to Doncaster 2-0, and are hovering above the Fl1 drop zone. For the terriers, as we know it all depends which team and with what attitude turns up for this game.

Match Prediction:

Most pundits are predicting an easy win for Huddersfield, I don't think it will be that easy, and predict a narrow victory for Andy Ritchies side Fancy a bet you can get 4/5 on Town, 11/5 the draw, and 3/1 on Northampton
