Huddersfield win 3 on the Trot away from home
23 Feb 2010
A brace from the hard working Lee Novak was enough to secure another 3 points on the road for Huddersfield Town
The former Gateshead striker scored on 8 and 48 minutes and was unlucky perhaps not to have gained the matchball, but that third goal just wouldnt come for him.
The two goals take Novak onto 11 for the season after last weeks goal was awarded to Neal Trotman, although to me the replays still look like a Novak goal.
Gary Roberts was in outstanding form and perhaps just shaded the man of the match for me. He created Novak's first goal with a lovely cross following a short corner between Roberts and Pilkington, Novak's header was adjudged to have crossed the line by the linesman.
Novak's second secured the game just after half time as the striker raced onto a through ball and powered past the helpless Tranmere defence as he fired a powerful low drive past the helpless Tranmere 'keeper Daniels into the bottom left corner of the net.
Huddersfield were simply dominant throughout and thoroughly deserved all three points as they chalked up a third away win on the bounce.
The game was scrappy in periods in a snow peppered Prenton Park and Huddersfield will now turn their attention to Saturday's derby with fellow promotion hopefuls Leeds united.
Superb recent form from the Terriers and much credit goes to Lee for sorting out the away form. Keep it up boss!
