Huddersfield Town went down to a crushing 3-0 away defeat at Brentford this afternoon
Town were rocked in the build up to the game with the news that Pilkington wasn't fit to play, and they were then further handicapped when Lee Peltier had to pull out of the team after suffering a suspected ankle injury in the warm up.
Huddersfield simply never got going in the game, and Brentford were the dominant side, they simply wanted the ball more and showed more desire than Town.
Quite how it stayed goalless in the first half, god only knows, as Town had ony one real shot in anger through Theo Robinson, which went straight into the side netting.
Town came out in the second half, and did creat several chances to go ahead in the game but those chances were wasted and in the main wide of goal or way over into the London sunny skies.
Brentford were always dangerous on the break and once the game went 1-0 after a soft penalty award there was only one place the points were going to.
Brentford further added to Town's misery by adding a 2nd and a 3rd late into the game, as they dented Towns goal difference.
The only bright note from the day was that Town remain in 6th position on goal difference, and that the play-offs are still in our own hands, but with tough games coming up at home against Walsall and the Millwall the Town players must regain their attacking flair.
