Huddersfield came away from Prenton Park with a draw after surviving an onslaught from a Tranmere side that played way above what their league position would suggest.
The hosts can perhaps be a little disappointed to leave with the solitary point after they dominated the game from the off and their performance deserved all three.
Tranmere had far the best of the first half with Huddersfield failing to register a single shot on target, and just the one attempt off target.
Town had defended valiantly and loan signing Sean Morrison making his debut on-loan from Reading was particularly looking impressive.
It was a first half to write off for the Terriers, who will have undoubtedly have suffered the wrath of an irate looking Lee Clark at half time.
Half Time:- Tranmere 0 - 0 Huddersfield.
Whatever Lee Clark said at half time seemed to have sunk in as Huddersfield took the lead on 49 minutes through Jordan Rhodes, perhaps it would be a scrappy game that we would leave with an undeserved 1-0 victory.
Danny Ward had to be replaced immediately following that goal and that unsettled Town with a reshuffled defence. Tom Clarke came on and went to right back with Jack Hunt moving to Right Wing and Danny Cadamarteri moving to the left wing.
It wasn't ideal timing as Tranmere went up the other end and equalised through Adam McGurk almost direct from the restart.
The newly introduce Clarke failed to track McGurk as the impressive Devaney sent the ball in the striker was able to score unchallenged past a helpless Ian Bennett.
Town replaced Lee Novak in the 62nd minute with Alan Lee, the big striker took a battering from Tranmere and was eventually forced off after 80 minutes, sustaining an injury that Lee Clark felt he would have to review follwoing the game as he claimed he felt the referee hadn't offered Big Alan any protection.
Anton Robinson was the man who came on to replace Lee and he took up a position in the hole as Town looked to claim a late winner.
In truth it was something that wouldn't have been deserved and the team were unable to create anything really of note other than a speculative strike from Cadamarteri from distance that was easily saved by Rachubka.
It was definitely a point gained for Town but questions must be asked of why Town failed to get into the game and the options available on the bench perhaps proved to be costly - with many Town fans agreed that a Keeper, 3 defensive midfielders and a striker wasn't a positive bench.
