Huddersfield Town were held at home by fellow promotion hopefuls MK Dons.

The visitors goal came about in a freak fashion as Gleeson's freekick deceived everyon and went straight into Ian Bennett's net.

Town had deservedly taken the lead on the stroke of half time through Jamie McCombe.

Star Player

Kallum Higginbotham - great debut from the new signing from Falkirk. Shame he couldn't mark his debut with a goal

Player Ratings

Ian Bennett 6

Didn't have much to do all game except pick a freekick out of the net that he is probably still wondering how he conceded. It was a freak goal

Jack Hunt 6.5

Hit the bar late on but came under pressure as Don's pressed the game

Jamie McCombe 7

Solid at the back and a well taken goal - looking good since his return from Preston

Sean Morrison 7

Has formed a good partnership with McCombe - Solid

Gary Naysmith 6

Captain for the day and was tested all afternoon against the talented Gleeson

Scott Arfield 5

Some wayward passing meant I had to mark Arfield down - not a winger would like to see him back as a box-to-box midfielder

Oscar Gobern 6

The big man should be more of a threat - has the energy - STOP passing sideways please.

Tommy Miller 5

Picked up a booking and looked scared to make a challenge - has been decent this season overall but seems out of form at the moment

Danny Cadamarteri 6

Huffed and puffed - looked knackered after 40 minutes. Always tries his hardest but we need to be doing better from this position - How we miss Pilks!

Kallum Higginbotham 7.5

Solid Debut and as he develops an understanding could prove a pivotal signing

Jordan Rhodes 6

Forgot he was on the pitch at times completely isolated and received little support in a 4-5-1 formation

Anton Robinson 5

Only on for last 15 - needs to be starting or he could prove to be the next pushed out of the door.

Lee Clark speaking to HTAFC.com

"It was an excellent game between two very good sides,"They moved the ball well, but I felt that we played well for large parts of the game.

"We had a twenty minute spell where we looked anxious, but in the final quarter of the game I felt we came back strongly and maybe could have nicked it towards the death. They never really had possession where they could have hurt us - we restricted them to playing most of their football in front of us.

We started the game very well and deserved to take the lead. At the start of the second half they had a decent spell and scored a fortuitous goal, but Karl will say they deserved it for being positive and I wouldn't disagree. I haven't seen a replay of Jack's shot at the end, but I can't question the decision when I haven't seen it properly. Even if it was over the line it doesn't matter because it wasn't given."

MK Dons boss Karl Robinson

"It is probably a fair result for two very good teams who try and conduct themselves in the right way, from a neutral perspective I think it was a very good spectacle for League 1. You always want to win every game you play, that is the nature of this industry but we walk away with a point and I think a point is fair.

Lee Clark

After being quizzed on team selection and injury report Clark revealed after the game..

"Damien Johnson is fit. The only people I have got injured are Gary Roberts, who is flying following his surgery and we are looking at a shorter time of recovery with him; Danny Ward could potentially be available for Leyton Orient and Peter Clarke goes into hospital on Tuesday for his double hernia operation."
