21 year-old Canadian goalkeeper Simon spent the final three months of the 2010/11 season on trial with the Club and impressed the coaching staff sufficiently to earn a year-long deal.

Simon, who stands at 6' 3" tall, is now expected to join the first team squad and continue his development under the tutelage of Goalkeeping Coach John Vaughan.

Born in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada on 12 April 1990, Simon started his footballing career at local side Victoria United as a junior and also represented the British Columbia provincial team at under-16 level.

He then joined former Major League Soccer franchise Vancouver Whitecaps in August 2007 after playing in their 'prospects' under-18 side, when he impressed in a friendly win over Leicester City under-18s.

Starting off in their development side - Vancouver Whitecaps Residency of the USL Premier Development League - he made 13 appearances, keeping five clean sheets and helping the residency side make the League semi-finals in their inaugural season.

He was called up to the senior Whitecaps side in 2009 for the pre-season trip to Tanzania but later returned to residency and played a further six games.

Simon eventually made his professional debut for the senior Vancouver Whitecaps side on 11 September 2010, coming on as a substitute for the final eight minutes of a 3-0 away win over Crystal Palace Baltimore. However, he left the Whitecaps later in the year and went on to join Town on trial.

Simon qualifies for a VISA through his parentage, which includes English family.
